Shahi means 'Royal' and Paneer means ' Cottage Cheese' and Shahi Paneer is undoubtedly one of the most popular dishes originating from India.
Ingredients:
250 gram cottage cheese
½ cup fine chopped tomatoes
½ cup onion (chopped into strips)
½ piece ginger chopped fine
2 green chillies chopped fine
Ό cup beaten curd
½ cup milk
2 Crushed cardamoms
3 tea spoon ghee or butter
½ tea spoon garam masala (a mixture of spices includes black cumin seeds, peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon and black cardamom pods)
½ tea spoon fed chilli powder
2 tea spoon tomato sauce
Salt to taste
For Garnish:
2 tea spoon paneer
1 tea spoon chopped coriander
Cooking Method:
As a first chop paneer into 2 fingers and heat half the ghee. Add ginger, green chilli, onion and cardamom. Fry for 5 minutes.
Add tomatoes and cook for 10 minutes and covered. Add also curd and cook for 5 minutes then add ½ cup water and cool.
Till it smooth blend it. Heat remaining ghee, except milk and paneer add gravy and other ingredients. Boil till get very thick gravy.
Before serving, heat gravy, add milk and paneer fingers and boil for 5 minutes and dont forget to garnish with chopped coriander and grated paneer.
